The Velveteen Rabbit

Yes it is a children's book but this one is fantastic! I have loved this book all my life and still it gets to me. Basically Pinocchio without being scary and depressing and creepy every five seconds.
This is the story of a boy and his toy rabbit, a toy he has had all of his life until the day his parents tell him it is too old and worn out for him. The rabbit finds himself thrown out, old and torn. But he is a very special rabbit and rabbits that are loved as much as this one can never end up in the garbage.
