One day I want to become a writer, and artist, an editor. I have traveled so much with my parents and my brothers that they are my closest friends and sometimes I wonder if I can actually say I come from any certain country. I love food so much that I think of countries according to the dishes they serve. And also, I am sharing my life with you.

Month of Music: Day 10

A song that makes me fall asleep

Well this one is really simple. It's the CD my mother and I put on when we're sitting in the living room late on a cold night with tea or hot chocolate. It's the best possible way to doze off.

The whole CD is along the same flow so I'll just give you the name of that.

Month of Music: Day 9

A song that I can dance to

Well I'm not much of a dancer to be completely honest but there are songs that make me skip along whole cooking and slide up and down the tiles holding on to my refrigerator's "hand" (i.e. door)
But I've said too much!

The latest one to add to my dance-along collection.

Month of Music: Days 7 and 8

My apologies, I was unable to get to a computer yesterday, strange as that may sound in our present day and age.

Day 07 – A song that reminds me of an event

Are you gonna be my girl by Jet
 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tuK6n2Lkza0&ob=av2e

I was listening to this song when we were looking for the right High School to go to, during all of the different visits - and then at graduation one of the bands in the class under me sang this for our year.

Day 08 – a song that I know all the lyrics to

Blood on my Name by the Wright Brothers
 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=njKmM1wIYwU

I love this song. It's from a musical short that me and my Mother both love so we kept listening to it in the car and singing along with it.

Month of Music: Day 6

A song that reminds me of somewhere

This song will forever and always remind me of my first apartment, all alone, in San Francisco and the surrounding area. I lived in the Fillmore and so there is the most adorable shopping street there where there is a small and jumbled up bookstore. I absolutely loved it there and read most of the books I bought there to this music as well.
It was a Muse year since this album had just been released.

Month of Music: Day 5

A song that reminds me of someone

Well that's easy. You know how couples say they have "their" song. Well I am definitely not the type of person to say that, but after splitting up I realized that this song was forever attached to that relationship.

Month of Music: Day 4

A song that makes me sad

Wow, not the kind of song I would listen to a lot then. I'm not sure if there is a song that puts me in a sad place.
Well there is one, which is completely because of the cirumstances around the song and what it makes me think of. Unfortunate though it may be, because it really isn't a bad song but:

Month of Music: Day 3

A song that makes me happy.

Well this is easy. I've actually been listening to this song quite a bit recently to keep my spirits up, not that I'm in any position to complain about anything in my life, so we won't even dive into that at all!

This song. As well as the brilliant video to it, makes me outrageously happy.

Uptown Girl by Billy Joel

It's just so great.

Month of music: Day 2

Least Favourite song

Wow, these start of really hard. I'm not sure I even have a least favourite song...
Though if I had to choose one I would probably say, and this was probably because it was so overplayed and screamed at by all my female friends when I was young:
Wannabe by the Spice Girls
*cringe*

Also anything defined by the term "noise", you seem to know that you aren't good yourself when you're called like that though.

Month of music: Day 1

Your favorite song.

So this is a super difficult thing to start with, especially considering that I love so many different genres of music and to sum up everything into one song would be, well, impossible.
But I'm going to try and give you one song, at least one that I like very much nowadays (because let's face it, it changes with age and times).

I think you would be hardpressed to find a moment in my life where I did not love:
Beethoven : Symphony No.7 in A major Op.92 : II Allegretto
but it is at an equal level as
Bach's Cello Suite n°1 in G major

These I could listen to at all moments of my life. So I will call them my favorite.

A month of Music

I found this list of songs, to be listed over a period of a month, that my friend is doing on his facebook page.
Since I have hqd no time to really chat or share on my lovely little blog lately (my apologies) I thought this might be a good plan. Since I only have so much of this very work heavy term at school left and I do listen to quite a great deal of music at all times of the day.

Happiness of the day 2

In a couple weeks I'm going to get a new tattoo on my arm but yesterday it was Boy's turn. He got a commemorative tattoo on his ribs. He was decided to spin by mine afterwards so that I could help him clean it up (it covers a lot of space).
Unfortunately I took a turn from coughing and feeling a tad bad to horrendously cold and a throbbing head to boot. I can not tell you how amazing it is that someone who has had their whole ribs tattooed a couple hours beforehand would still take care of you when they aren't feeling so hot either.
To keep our heads positive he spent the night showing me funny things online and bands that he liked. Needless to say he is great.

Although he refuses to believe this.

In any case, I'm down with sickness so I might actually have time to read a line or two in my book.

PS: Can not wait for my own tattoo sessions.
Do any of you out there have a tattoo?

Monday's Recommendation

I feel so bad not being able to read as much as I want to but I really can't seem to find any time to jump into the books around all the other things like my extra curricular work and spending time with Boy which, let's face it, I quite like doing even above a good book.

So instead of a book I want to recommend a little restaurant Boy and I went to last weekend that was absolutely fantastic.

West is a great place, inconspicuous from the outside but rather fantastic on the inside and well, the food is absolutely amazing.

A little more spendy than your average restaurant but such a great place to bring your significant other or perhaps a lovely mother on mother's day.
On top of that our waiter was so delightul that both of us just wanted to scoop him up and put him in our pockets.

So if you're ever in Vancouver, jump on over, I really recommend... well all of their dishes really.

Mother's Day!

It's Mother's Day! And I cannot spend a single second of the day doing anything before I'm able to tell, or write to, my Mother how much it means to me that she is the one I'm celebrating today.

So anyone reading this. Hold on to yours socks because this is going to get corny.

What can I say?  How can I explain to you how much you mean to me Mother darling?
Lots of people take for granted what they have and even those people aren't as lucky as I am. Never once have I felt less than the luckiest child (along with the boys I guess) for having you as a mother.

How can I show off how much I enjoy your company and everything we do together?
I should think it would be obvious on all my requests to join you going anywhere in the car, even if we are going somewhere that isn't fun, I don't mind that because I quite enjoy the company more than the destination.

You are my single most treasured friend and beloved Mother. Even if Floris remarked that this might seem ridiculous to others, I think that as far as friends go, you're a pretty great one.

And through everything that this little family of ours could ever go through, you are the glue that holds us together, even when we are spread out across the world.

For all these reasons....
I Love You Mother

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

Monday's Recommendation: Movie Night

Ok so I simply can't let this movie pass without exclaiming to high heaven at how good it was!

The Avengers was possibly one of the most awesome Superhero movies yet!
Of course the second I saw Joss Whedon's name attached to it then it had no choice but to be brilliant.
I don't want to spoil anything at all so...
I'll just say that this is great action, brilliant comedic moments and well the picture below made me giggle:

How can you resist?

I got all these pictures from Google, though I guess the second one is originally from 9gag.

Seattle and my darling Jess

Jess's dogs. The sweetest pair.

And Jess with them.

This is the Public Market where they toss fish and yell out at each other.

The Space Needle! So nice.

Here's the EMP Museum. Where a special Nirvana display was up.

The Troll in Freemont.

Seattle!!! So much fun!

The New Orleans bar was great fun with some good music.

We ended the night at the Sorrento Hotel and then at Vito's.
Sorrento Hotel had a great lounge band and an even more amazing bread pudding with whiskey and almond ice cream. So, so amazing!
Vito's had some good cocktails and, get this, there was a Cougar Room. Yes... That's pretty brilliant.
