One day I want to become a writer, and artist, an editor. I have traveled so much with my parents and my brothers that they are my closest friends and sometimes I wonder if I can actually say I come from any certain country. I love food so much that I think of countries according to the dishes they serve. And also, I am sharing my life with you.

Cool stuff

Look at this brilliant set of erasers!

Remarks

I was just wondering if anyone else noticed this reporter.

What is he doing in the middle of the water? And notice after this the camera zoom out to show that there is a beach right next to this. He's reporting about a hurricane and is standing in the ocean? This seems strange to me.
We made up a theory that perhaps he is very attached to that fence....
A few minutes later one of the reporters talking to him from the studio said he had better get out of the water.

Monday's recommendation: in a Roald Dahl mood

I'm in a very Roald Dahl mood these days, having not read many of his books but enjoyed many movie adaptations I realized how many things were written by him. Some of the more famous examples would be Matilda, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and more recently Fantastic Mr. Fox.
I'm taking it upon myself to read more of his books since I really enjoy the way he writes. So I'm recommending to you out there the two ones I have read or am enjoying at this moment.

I read this when I was very young and as such have a biased opinion on it, being that everything you read and enjoy when you are young becomes translated into forever adoration for the rest of your life even if it isn't even that great.
This book however is fantasticly written and the story is entertaining at every moment. It's really hard to find a really great children's writer who doesn't go into the idiotic or go too far into the seriousness of an adult. Roald Dahl seems to achieve that great middle between the two. You get a great story and it's told to you in a way that does not make you seem like you don't understand the english language.

If you don't know the story yet or haven't seen any of the movies here is a small description.
Charlie is a young boy who doesn't have very much. He lives in a small house and enjoys the company of his four grandparents. They have never left their beds in all of their time as grandparents, and that is no little amount of time. During the time that they have been laying there, Willy Wonka, and entrepreneur of sorts, sets up a chocolate factory and in 15 years it becomes the greatest one in the country. And now when the factory is at its peak, Willy Wonka is allowing 5 lucky children to enter the factory and win a lifetimes supply of chocolate after their visit.
When Charlie revieves his money for working he can't resist the temptation of buying one of the Willy Wonka chocolate bars that he loves. Through a lot of hardships and temptations Charlie Bucket is one of the few who discovers a golden ticket inside of his chocolate bar.

These are six stories all rolled up into one small book. I have only read three but am enjoying them thouroughly. Unfortunately they are quite short and to tell you anything would result in telling you the whole story, or at least an important part. So I'll let you discover these on your own.
Only know that they are quite wonderful.

Dinner with the family

My father's cousin was visiting for the weekend and we took him and his wife to a little restaurant that my parents had found earlier in the year.

My Dad's cousin, Homer.

Mummsy looked lovely.

Homer's wife. Such a fantastic woman (just like her husband). Can you believe she's in her fifties?!

The menu is extremely interesting.

So simple but beautiful.

I love how the lighting is created.

The screen back there show the cook in slow motion and pictures. Very cool.

Hello there.

OK so there was a scary sculpture behind me I hadn't noticed that was made of small heads. I noticed that they seemed quite happy though, so not to worry.

Canada Post numero 2

We dropped off my little brother the day after we arrived. Went for a little tour around the pier at Halifax with him and then drove him to the airport. We both felt super terrible leaving without him. It was this horendous feeling because my little brother is such a hoot, we immediately thought it was super quiet and not at all fun.
From this and from a few things that happened with my little bro, came the exclamation "This vacation sucks!". This sentence was cried out many times throughout the vacation at certain comical moments (i.e when we were stranded at the airport for a whole night). It is still the source of a lot of laughter till this day. I love when inside jokes are created. Do you have one?

Alright so this walk was my Everest! I have never died so much trying to get up a mountain so fast. We had a dinner apointment we needed to get to so the 10 kilometers we walked had to be done in 4 hours.

Best sign I have ever seen!

So happy to get to the end.

The whole way was only stairs made of uneven rocks. It was horrible. This is actually the easiest part, most of it was straight up.

That small building down there next to the river is where we came from.

Noticed

Just realized how much I used brilliant in my previous post. My God... All my airplane novels (you know those ones you read because you're in the plane and don't want to use your brain) were English this summer. It isn't my fault I swear!
PS: the books were pretty brilliant too

Animals in Canada! Part II

These pictures are from my camera.

We almost squished this guy. We screeched to a stop and my heart jumped out of my chest. But he was safe. Running across the street as a car is driving by isn't a good idea...

This took about sixty pictures to get before I actually got a non-blurry, not-only-the-tail shot.

It was FANTASTIC being near these beautiful animals.

Her baby was so adorable.

This was from veeery far away.

Alright so these darlings were brilliant.

They were so sweet with each other.

In flight. I stood there with a camera pointing at the sky for about an hour.

The babies were adorable.

Never seen one of these in real life before! So cute!

These guys were brilliant! They arrived the second we came up to their little river area because we were wearing the same hats as the feeders (it was raining). Here his nostrils are wide open to check if we have food.
