Ah Wednesday's are definitely going to be my favorite night of every week from now on.
(except for the next two weeks since it's vacation again)
Safe to say that tonight was only an improvement on our first ever 1920s night at 'Le Theatre Du Renard', last week. I really wish this place had an internet site that I could share, I've linked a site that has some great pictures though and the address...
Today we decided that drinks and great music where going to be accompanied by a little bit of food, since we were extremely hungry and didn't have enough to eat all day for the drinks that we were drinking. Let me just say.... Best food in all of Paris!!! I have not eaten something so good in a long time. Delicious and highly recommendable to anyone passing by Paris. The chicken dish we ate was 20 euros but well worth it!
The cocktails seemed more like alcohol than any other ingredient that was supposedly in them...
Food meant we got to sit at the tables! Yay! This did afford a better view of our friend Nicholas on stage.
Managed to get a great 1920s inspired dress from the sales at ZARA's yesterday so I finally felt the part.
Hurray for great evenings with friends!
ps: sorry for all the 'I-phone in the dark' quality photos.
One day I want to become a writer, and artist, an editor. I have traveled so much with my parents and my brothers that they are my closest friends and sometimes I wonder if I can actually say I come from any certain country. I love food so much that I think of countries according to the dishes they serve. And also, I am sharing my life with you.

Good times and things you ought to know
Had a lovely time with Jess out on the town today. We had to kill time before our movie started and after spending a couple hours and a few bucks lallygagging around the shops we decided to head off to the bar.
First an enormous pint of beer at the restaurant, a slightly ridiculously watery Mojito at the Hideout pub and then we decided to make our way to the Frog pub. In a previous post I talked about the amazingness of these pubs, English speaking pubs spread out across Paris, it's safe to safe that the Frog and Rosbeef (as opposed to the Frog and Princess) is just as good and even more English. We had a good time and I indulged in a little Mojito Royale.
I discovered this drink not long ago and it is fabulous! It's like a mix of my two all time favorite drinks! A normal Mojito, except you replace the soda with champagne! Awesomeness? I think so!
After the drinks galore we made our way back to the cinema and saw the avant-premiere of "The King's Speech".
.... An AMAZING movie!!!
The King's Speech is one of the best films about royalty I have ever seen. Sometimes royal movies get a bit dull and you start to fade off for a moment as they chat around about silly royal stuff that shouldn't be so complicated but it is. There isn't any of that in this film. It is filled with such real moments and so much emotion (you can't expect less from a great actor like Colin Firth) that you can't help but feel for the characters and pour your heart into believing in the King.
The movie tells the story of King George the 6th. We follow him through the trials of becoming king and the trials of the new war coming along, all of this accentuated by the fact that he has a stutter. Although he is expected to be the pillar of strength that holds up the country he cannot express himself in a way that inspires this in people's hearts. That is where Lionel comes in. A touching story about friendship and the strength of will of one of the great kings of England.

Monday's recommendation
Ender's Game
By Orson Scott Card
This is possibly one of the greatest science fiction books ever written, or at least in my eyes it is.
The story takes place in a future where there is a strict limitation on the human race, it is only for special occasions that couples are allowed to have two children and only for very important reasons can a third be allowed. Our main character, Andrew (aka Ender), is a Third. Allowed only because of the great potential of his genetics, Andrew does not disappoint as he is clearly the most intelligent of his class.
The military, in an effort to create impossibly brilliant officers, recruits children from the ages of seven or even younger as part of a military facility. Andrew starts his adventure as he too is to join the forces of the other children.

Tea time

Great day for a walk. Other than the fact that it is freezing cold! The bucket that we keep outside for the dogs to drink whenever they play, froze over last night.
*sigh*
A cold day only means one thing though, tea!
I took advantage of the moment to make a batch of lovely scones and serve the tea in one of our pots. We should really use them more so any occasion to do so should be fully taken advantage of.

We were pretty happy about it even though the morning started out rough and I had to bake two batches of scones because I forgot to add the yeast in the first batch. Probably just thinking about the fact that Athos peed on my bed.

The guilty leaker shown below.

Evenings at home
I love coming home after having been gone for a little longer than usual. Scratch that, I just like being home.
Yesterday evening we took advantage of not knowing what to watch as a movie, to instead play a boardgame. People don't play boardgames enough and they definitely don't play 'Memory' enough.

Me and my little bro were sporting some pretty ridiculous and therefore hilarious, fake eye glasses.

Note: that thing that looks like a cigar is a sesame bread stick.

In the end no one could master the 'Memory' game, other than my brilliant mother. Who thinks she forgets things too easily. Peshaaa! I say to that!

Our finishing piles, organized by age, from my mother on the left to my little brother on the right. I came in second, as I frequently do in this game.
Feanor, out little saint Bernard, was unimpressed.
